WHAT'S NEW

  • The upper limit for grants in Private Higher Education has increased from $200,000 to $250,000. This change does not apply to proposals already submitted to these Foundations.
  • Drawing on the results of the study assessing “caring attitudes” in medical education, the Board has reiterated its strong support for the caring attitudes program in health care but is narrowing its focus to projects such as those that help faculty and residents become better mentors and role models, address reforms in the “hidden curriculum” of medical schools and residency programs, and facilitate organizational development that will encourage cross-disciplinary cooperation and other transformative initiatives in medical education. See current program description.

  • On February 8, 2008, twenty-one grants totaling over $4 million were approved by the Board.

  • In 2007, sixty grants totalling $11.6 million were approved.
